A while back, I showed you a knitting book I bought from one of Debbie Macombers book series. It was patterns from the A Good Yarn book. While shopping at Joann Fabrics last week, I saw she now has more out. Even one from the book I haven't read yet, Twenty Wishes. This one caught my eye and I just hadddddddd to have it. It is from A Shop On Blossom Street.

This hat, scarf, and mittens patterns are really nice. I just might have to try them out.

Now, I am just about sure I know someone who would say, "Mother, I need this shawl" Wonder who that could be????

In the story, one of the ladies wanted a more complicated pattern and so she knit this lacy shawl, not the one the others in the group were doing. Have your read this series? It is really a nice set by Debbie Macomber and I think must reading. I have never read a book by her that I didn't like.

Every year we have a big festival here in Canton. Four times, weather permitting, we have a balloon fest. This year 72 balloons were launched. We had some some storms and hail but not at the times of launchings. I always make George go out chasing the balloons. We ended up in about 5 spots this year to get the best views.

This is one of the cute shape balloons we had here this year.

A group I managed to take. Sometimes it isn't easy getting them close together. The USA shape balloon is coming into view at the left.

More coming in for the contest they have where they have to drop an object on to a target. I took about 50 pictures but won't bore you with more. LOL.

I googled Wear Red on Fridays and got this picture and with it was a wonderful song. I bet if I was more computer savy, I could put it on my blog. Well, I am certainly not but I want you to at least see the picture. The link is You can hear the nice song they sing as a tribute.
This is one of my main reasons for wearing Red on Fridays. Mitch, my Grandson is now serving in Iraq. I pray for him everyday and he is never out of my thoughts. Kristen, Haali and Mitchell also. They are missing him so much. Stay safe Mitch, we love you.

This is Jason, also my Grandson now. Thank God he is now safely home with Mandie and Zoe and stationed at Ft Bragg. He is a wonderful soldier and we love him also.
My husband and I never miss wearing Red on Fridays for the troops and have for several years. On google, I see Canada also does it. God Bless all of the Men and
Women in the military and keep an angel on their shoulders.

When I did a scrapbook for Mandie, Zoe said "Gramma, where are my pictures. Well, if you knew this little girl, you would know she has me wrapped so here it is Little One.
She wanted to be a princess for her 4th Birthday, so I made her this dress, with her choice of color. She loves the disney princesses and Tinkerbell. Sorry for the flashback on the pictures.

This is when she was much smaller and in my backyard with Aunt Heidi's English stroller and my dolls. Everytime she came in summer, out we went.

At her daycare, they had a day for outdoor fun and she sure had her share of the fun. She was in a wonderful daycare here in Ohio.

These are some of her Halloween costumes. She wanted to be Tink again last year. This scrapbook has Tink on every page.

There are more pages but I didn't take pictures of all of them.

When she learned to talk, her Mom told her I was her Great Gramma and so, she started calling me Gramma Great and she still does. So, now you have shared a few of the pages of Zoe's birthday scrapbook. Her birthday is in August, and yes Heidi, I am keeping it till then. Heidi knows me too well, I cannot keep things.

I just put the last stitch on the last of the six wives. I am going to be sad to not be doing the people anymore. This is Catherine Parr. Heidi also said she will be sad to not be reading anymore history lessons to me. Anybody know anymore historic cross stitches of people? I now have to complete the motifs and then the border. This has been so much fun for me.

Today I received this award from my wonderful little girl, Heidi at Thank you Heidi, yes we do have a wonderful
little online stitching group. Since some of us were able to get together in Holland, it is
even more special now.
The rules for this award are:
1. The winner may put the logo on her blog
2. Put a link to the person you got the award from
3. Nominate 5 blogs
4. Put links to these blogs
5. Leave messages to the nominees
I would like to give this award to:
My Hidden Stash

Tonight I finished Anne of Cleves. The last wife I have to stitch is Catherine Parr. I did the palace before starting this wife. I am going to do a few more motifs then Catherine. The border will be quite a challenge, and I also have the shield to stitch below the banner.

Today is Mirchell's birthday. He is at camp this week so they are celebrating when he gets home.
Happy Birthday Mitchell.
Today we went to breakfast with our biking friends (motorcycle not bicycle). My friend, Dorothy, gave me this family Bible. I feel very privileged to have such a special friend. Thank you Dorothy, I will always treasure this special gift.

This is the page for her to give it to me as a presentation.

For Mother's Day 2007, Kristen gave me this Bible. When she gave it to me, I decided I was going to read it from cover to cover and I am proud to say I did. I have always said I wanted to read the entire Bible but put it off. I finally did it.

Here is page one, and I just kept reading. Thanks to Kristy for this special gift. Both of my
Grandaughters are a special gift to me every day.

Listening to the music on Celebrate the Seasons, Heidi's blog, made me want to see Mary Poppins again. I have been wanting to buy this movie for some time. I went hunting it and you can only buy the Anniversary Edition, and it is $20. Yesterday, my cousin and I went to the Hartville Flee Market and there it was. I got it for $5.oo in VCR. I just watched it. It is still a great movie.

Another wife finished tonight. Meet Anne Boyeln. I did a few of the motifs also so they are not all waiting until the wives are finished. The next wife will be Anne of Cleves. Get ready to read Heidi.
To answer your question on my comments last entry Heidi, I did cut the grass, I finished the book this morning and started 13 and I am nearly half way through it also. I actually do need talking books though.

Tonight I am going to be finishing this third book belonging to Haali. They were very quick books to read. They are the Card Shop Mystery series. I know more will be coming soon. Thanks Haali.
I bought this one and the next today. I read almost everything written by Debbie Macomber. You cannot go wrong with her books.
This is also a series and it starts with one and goes to 13 so far. The character in this series is just very funny. She is a comic bounty hunter. Also good fast reading.

If you like reading, I highly recommend this Catherine Coulter book, Double Take. It is the same FBI people who are in her books starting with The Cove. Every book she writes is good. I bought it one afternoon and finished it the next.

This is one of Haali's books by Elizabeth Bright. These are the card shop mysterys. I am half way through another one. They read really fast too.

In case anyone doesn't know it, this is my little Great Grandaughter, Zoe. I have always called her my Princess. When she had her fourth birthday, I made this dress for her and she had a party at Chuckie Cheese.
I cannot believe that she is soon going to be six. She loves the disney princesses, sooooooo::::::

While shopping at Joann Fabrics, I found this scrapbook on sale. I did a scrapbook for her Mom awhile ago, and she wanted to know where hers was. Ok little spoiled one, you will have one all your own soon.
I am also working on Henry and now I am doing the motifs surrounding Henry. I decided to do them before another wife. I will never want to go back and do all of them in the end.

Hope everyone has a fun day on the 4th of July. We will be going to dinner in Amish Country with a group and that is one of my very favorite things to do. Hope you are flying the flag and remembering our troops who are in Iraq and Afghanistan and other bases around the world and in this country.

Remember, every Friday, wear red for the troops, we do. Hope if you like fireworks you have the opportunity to see them. We will watch the Capital 4th on TV if nothing else. Enjoy.
