BUTTONS AND MORE WORK

Heidi thought the poncho was a kid size. I wanted to show it is adult size. I will be making smaller ones also.
These are the buttons that have inspired me to knit ponchos. I showed you the stack of yarn on the other entry, well, that was only the beginning. If Eric looks at these buttons, he will know what color yarn will go with the bottom right. His favorite.
Bill and I went to Walmart and I went back to yarn to buy (one) that is 1 skein of yellow yarn. Ok, we went a little crazy. We picked these buttons to work well for teens. Had to but yarn for them, right.
The bottom buttons on the right, I liked so much I bought them twice. They will be different yarns though. One poncho using these buttons is almost finished. I will show you when I complete it. The fringe is not fun to do and I force myself to finish one completely before I go on. I ended up with more yarn than I bought the first time. Maybe I need a store.

OK, NOW I AM HAPPY

The battery arrived this afternoon. I am now on my laptop and back in business to download my pictures. Yeahhhhh. This is the second of many ponchos I plan to knit. This one is in our Ohio State University colors. I am planning to make many for a craft show our church has in October. I am thinking I can sell them for $20 each. Hope they will sell.
This is most, but not all of the yarn I bought to make them. I first bought the buttons, then matched the yarn to the buttons. I am knitting the third one right now. When it is finished, I will post it too. My poor Warrior is here beside me not very happy to not be receiving any stitches right now.

STILL WAITING

The tracking site says I will receive my package on Friday. I sure hope this battery fits after all this waiting. I am not very patient.
When I am able to download pictures, I want to show all the yarn I just bought for a project I have now decided to get into. Maybe Friday?????????????? Hope so. Hope you are all having a good day.

A SUPRISE FOR HEIDI

When Heidi designed her primitive ornaments, I told her no way was I making them. Well, last night I stitched this one, and tonight I sewed it to a backing, and stuffed it. You can see and download free, the designs Heidi did on her needlenecessities blog. You can click on it from my friends list..
This is the backing I used. Everyone knows, I love snowmen, so I thought I really should make this one. To put it on the blog, I had to go to my desktop. It is Vista, I never use it, George does. My camera card doesn't fit into the printer so we used George's camera for the pictures. We figured it out so I could do the entry. I think my battery isn't coming until next Thursday. I am not happy about that. I want my laptop back.

OUT OF BUSINESS

for awhile, I will not be able to post any pictures I have taken. My laptop battery bit the dust.
I have my little laptop, but it doesn't have the download abilities. I have ordered my new battery, and hopefully it will be here by Monday or Tuesday. I had to Google this picture.
Hope you are having a good day. Thanks to Kristy, I was able to find a good price on my battery.

TWO FINISHES AND SOME FOOD

This is the finished poncho. The pattern says to sew the buttons through both layers, but if you want a shawl instead, you can take them off, or not use any. I looked for wild buttons to match the wild look. LOL. I still didn't use up all the yarn. Oh well.
Some of the yarn was from this afghan I made some time ago but never took a picture. I added more of what I had around here. The afghan is longer and wider than I usually make. I am now working on another project that I can't show right now.

This is George's macaroni salad that will be on his page of our cookbook. He made some to take today and some for home. I am going to add this picture to the cookbook, which is fast turning into a scrapbook more than a cookbook. I will soon show you more pages.

I took this pie to his Son's house for dinner today, no one ate any, we were all full. I can make one for here if we want one. This one is peanut butter pie. Jeff doesn't eat chocolate, so I made it with vanilla pudding. I had already put the cover on it when I took the picture.
Hope you all had a nice Easter.

ALMOST EASTER

I won this little Welcome sign in a drawing at the Wilderness Center. We volunteer to do their newsletter every month and the draw numbers for prizes.
I haven't done much for Easter at all. Today I colored eggs, just because I love them. I guess I never grew up. I miss Zoe helping me this year. The gift is for Eric and Becky. They came in today. I never gave them a wedding gift so I did today.
This is one of the three wire baskets I bought at an antique shop in Bolivar. They are so pretty and I got three sizes, all three for only $5.00.

A SNEAK PEEK

Ok, here is a sneek peek at my poncho of many colors. I am using up yarn I had left from projects. I won't know if I really like it, until I put it together. If it from a pattern in the Debbie Macomber knitting book. I am about half way on the second side. You make two large triangles and then put them together and it buttons in the front. Time will tell.
This is the new Nora Roberts book I bought. I have started it and so far it is as good as everything she writes. I love all of her books. I did finish the one I showed in the other entry. Beach Road. I wasn't sure I was going to like it, but it was really good and the end was a shock.
Bill is reading the second James Patterson now, so I will read it when he is finished and this one is also.

My friend had a cookie business and quit doing them, but she made some for her church bake sale and I bought two dozen. Bill had to have cookies, he is the cookie monster, and iced cutouts are his favorites. They are yummy good.

NICE CHAIR AND MORE BOOKS

I have been spending way more time in my sewing room, since I am making the scrapbooks. I decided to help my back and buy a task chair. I was using a dining room chair and it wasn't the right height. I am making 6 of the same cookbooks for my family and now I decided I might want one for myself. Ok, now I have to make more pages and print more pictures and receipes. Oh well, mine doesn't have to be just the same and good thing, I no longer have the same paper.
My friend asked me if I ever read James Patterson books and since I said no, she brought two for me to try. I am reading Beach Road, but so far I am just so so on it. I hope I finish it.

I guess I will get to this one too, however, I bought the newest in paperback Nora Roberts book, and she is my all time favorite. I am also using up my yarn I have laying around and making the poncho in Debbie Macombers knitting book, A Good Yarn. I almost made it a shawl instead but thought no, just do it. (Heidi used to hear that alot from me). I have been wanting to try it. It is Joseph's Coat of Many Colors but, if I like it, I can buy colors I really like. It is a great project for knitting and watching TV. I should have it finished soon and I will show you.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY

Heidi and Jos are going to celebrate their anniversary on April 4th. Since they are probably going to go to their cottage, I thought I would post this a couple days early. She has now been in Holland, with our Dutchman, a very long time. They are still very happy together and that makes me happy too.
This is one of their wedding pictures, taken on a Merry Go Round in Tampa Florida. It was so much fun to take the pictures and then ride it too. My scanner isn't working right now, so I can't put anymore of the pictures on.
Kristy and Mandie were so small then.
Kristy and Mitch are also having an anniversary this month, theirs is the 3rd. She is in Seattle with Mitch right now. He is training someone to take over for him and then has to go back to Iraq until May. I hope they are having a great time. She just isn't blogging right now at all.
Happy Anniversary to both couples.
