My cousin was visiting from Virginia and brought these books for me to read. I have already read three of the top set
This brings back memories of long ago. We used to live 5 houses from this railroad tracks. Our friend called to say a stream train was coming through from Columbus to Pittsburgh. We made it to a crossing very near where we lived as kids. Five minutes later the steam train came through with all the smoke like the old days coming from it. It was great to see it.
We have read Wanda Brunstetter and really like her but the other author is not one I know. Glad you liked them and how nice that Lois brought them to you.
I had already seen all the photos of the steam train when you emailed them all to me. That is fun that you got to see it but too bad Grandma's house is no longer there.
How fun to be able to share books with friends. Even more fun to reminisce about the steam train that you obviously loved so much! I took a trip down memory lane a few years ago and visited my grandparents old diner. I don't remember it as a kid but I've seen pictures. It was fun to see how small it really was and see the original dimensions that it still has. The facade is really ugly now though and hasn't been well maintained. Our home down the street from it was torn down 40+ years ago and the freeway goes right over it and my dad's old farmland. Glad you got to enjoy a bit of your past.
How nice to get such lovely gifts to read! Once I start reading, it is hard to put the book down. I love steam engines too! I remember seeing them when I was a little girl in town. I was always in awe of them.
