HEIDI'S BOBBIN LACE

These are lace pieces Heidi has made for me over the years. I treasure them all. She is one very talented girl and I am so glad she is my daughter
This is the bedspread for my dollhouse, a red and green doily and two rings to go into glass for candles.

A bookmark and small doily

My favorite, a beautiful doily. There is another one I forgot to take a picture of, it is also a doily, in a frame made to display lace

A pretty little red doily

Lace made to frame a picture

A star to display a candle, a bookmark and a paperweight. A key chain I am supposed to use, but don't. I keep most of the pieces displayed under glass on
my dining room table.

MY WIP NEEDLEPOINT

I bought this needlepoint in Canada a couple years ago. I went into the shop hunting Anchor yarn and came out with all this yarn plus this canvas. Needless to say, my wallet was lighter by the time I got out of the store.
I am trying to motivate myself to now finish it. I really like it but out of sight out of mind. I thought if I put it out on the frame, I might get with it.

TO ANSWER THE COMMENTS............

This is a sweater I made Bill a few years ago. He says now you can see Student/Teacher

Elly, Yes, the project will be ready for me to bring to Holland.
Carolien, Yes, he will become a master, he is always talking about ideas he
wants to try.

Teresa, Yes, I have a very talented family, I am very lucky

Mandie, Just keep knitting, there is nothing you cannot do when you try, I
know this is true.

Margaret Not anymore, he will buy his own yarn. He is using some now left from the afghan I made him. I did buy the grey for the sweater. Yes, he can also chrochet.

Joni, Bill is my oldest son, the one we talked about. He will read the comment and see your request for Dark Red. LOL

Nancy, For Heidi, the word is SPOILED, not lucky.

Thanks to everyone for all the nice comments you always leave on my blog.

DON'T TELL HEIDI SHHHHH

Bill, sitting in his sweater he knitted, is here knitting again while waiting for time to leave for work. He wants to try different patterns and this one is for, yes Heidi, for you.

He is planning the next thing in his head as he is knitting away. He has lots of ideas, so I told him he better design his own projects.
As before, perfect stitches Bill. Good work.

A GIFT FROM MY SISTER, RUTH

My sister gave me a subscription to this magazine and I mentioned it yesterday when I posted my award from Robin. Heidi said I now have to show the book since she has never seen it. It is pictures from the 30's, 40's and 50's.

Ok, Heidi, I bet you remember the top doll, Poor Pitiful Pearl. Heidi always chose dolls that had the oddest looks. Did you have this one, I can't remember.
Ok, I had to show this one. When I was in High School I worked in SS Kresge's in Canton, Ohio.
I met my husband Bill there. He was in manager training. We were not allowed to date fellow employees, guess that idea didn't work well. LOL.
The man who painted this said he did it from memory of his childhood. It is Marietta, Ohio. He started painting it in ninth grade.

Thank you Robin (Bittersweet Punkin) for the award. I will pass this award to Teresa at (Sew Many Thoughts) and Christine at (The Little World of Christine). Have a great day.
For Christmas, my Sister gave me the subscription to the magazine Reminisce. I received the first one today and I am really enjoying it. What a fun magazine it is.

MESSAGE FROM KRISTEN

Kristen, Christian Crafter, wanted me to tell you, she has no computer right now so is unable to post or to comment on any blogs. She is moved into her new home and loves it, but they have to get internet installed. They still have a few things to move but most is done. Haali and two of her friends worked and got her room all finished yesterday. Military kids know how to move, right Heidi?

This is the real Kristen when all is calm. She will be there again soon I'm sure. Glad the move is going well Kristy, we miss you online.

TAGGED AGAIN

I've been tagged by Robin to tell 15 Reasons It's Great To Be Me.
Heidi says I just need to say numbers one through 15 Heidi, Heidi, Heidi and on and on.
Well, certainly one of the reasons is Heidi so I will put that as number one. There will never be another quite like my Heidi.
2 thru 14- I have been blessed with my life. My Mom, my Dad, my husband Bill, my husband now, George, My sons Bill and Eric. Fawn who gave me Kristen and Mandie and then they gave me Mitch and Jason. Now, no one can have better than my Haali, Mitchell and Zoe.
That leaves number 15- I live in a great state and get to travel on a regular basis. Yes, I did
solve the pulling out my hair last entry. The flights are booked.

TEARING MY HAIR OUT

I am trying to co-ordinate using air miles on both United and Delta Airlines for my trip to Heidi's in April. George wants me to either go or come back on the same day he does, to keep Heidi and Jos from having an extra trip to the airport. Since our miles are not on the same airline, it is just not easy. We are going to use the laptop and desktop to try to have both airlines up at the same time. Hope it works out. I want to be there when the Stitchers are there and
he will be there when they are not. AHHHH.

MY SHEEP FRIENDS

These are my little sheep friends. One is a needle punch I did. The card is from the area in Holland where I bought the wool. The little picture is from Ireland. They are some I bought, and some were given to me.

This is the wool I am now knitting with. It is spun from Holland and found in their Forest Rangers visitor center. It was such a find. It was only three euros fifty per skein. The lady then (when contacted by Jos) was willing to spin more for me. Heidi and Jos visited my sheep then. lol

This a the back of a sweater I started for Eric. He has two from the other wool I bought.
I am not very into knitting this. I might make the back and then put it aside for awhile.

Knitting by Bill

Heidi says Bill is the only person who would sit and knit in a tie. He did an awesome job.
Bill learned to knit when he was very young, but he has never done a sweater. I am very happy to see the great job he did. He even did cables.

This is him wearing it, and he is going to wear it to work today, because they all know he was making it.

PROJECT COMPLETE

Taking this picture in the evening was not the best idea, but I just finished it at 8:30PM.
To answer Heidi, this is all new yarn. Some of the colors you have seen before though. It is made with an afghan hook and it is called the afghan stitch. The stitches get put on the long needle shown below, then they are chrocheted back off. Over and over and boring. I cannot believe I made it three times. There will probably never be another one.

This afghan is made in long strips then chrocheted together. I put an edge of single chrochet around it, then a row of half doubles. You can do as many finishing rows as you want to.

Oh, and all four books are read too.

GIFT FROM BILL

\\

Bill gave me a gift card for Christmas, so with part of it, I bought three books of
some of my favorite authors. Julie Garwood, Catherine Coulter, and Jude Deveraux.
I had just finished a book by Nora Roberts. I love her books and also when she writes as JD Robb. This one is the first of a three part series, so now I will be
waiting for the next two.
This might be the reason I still don't have the afghan and sweater finished that I started awhile ago. I need talking books.

I was taking our Christmas tree down when George called me to the kitchen window to
see a strange cloud. Yes, hard to believe, but this is a cloud.

CHRISTMAS GIFTS

Kristy, my Grandaughter in New York, takes after her Great Grandmother Smith. She makes the most beautiful dolies and I so much love having them. No table in my house
is without one. Thank you for the handmade gift Kristy.
Mandie knows how much I love Snowmen, so she got me the Snowmen Hot Chocolate Pot.
Too bad she and Zoe can't be here to drink some with me.
I miss all of them already.
The last picture is the sweater I knitted for Haali.
