When Heidi took me to Seiffen, in Germany, I saw the items I saw here. They actually brought these things over from Germany for this market. They were ice skating behind this.
This is the table the glass blowers were working, but they were not there. There was a girl there painting ornaments that had been blown there.

Isn't it fun that you have actually seen the real thing to compare it with? Did you tell the girl that did you ornament that you had been to Seiffen? I wish I could have bought that big ol' nutcracker in that photo. :)
Fun that Charlie went along too.
Love and hugs ~

Looks like a nice little market Gramma! I bet the food was wonderful! I haven't had a good brat with sauerkraut in a while! maybe for new years??

Nancy, it all looks so magical. I love the nutcrackers and the decorated stalls. I visited my best friend in Germany a few years ago at Christmastime and she took me to several Christmas markets. It was a wonderful experience. I can still smell the warm mulled wine and gingerbread. Some of it was decorated in the most amazingly intricate designs done in icing and other were covered in rich looking glace fruits and sugar coated nuts. The stalls selling glass blown ornaments took my breath away. The delicacy of these beautiful ornaments which were painted with nostalgic Christmas scenes was just incredible. As the daylight began to fade, the twinkling lights of the stalls and the glowing lanterns that many families carried, created a scene straight out of a fairytale. I still remember it as if it was yesterday :>)
Thanks for sharing your pictures as all the memories came flooding back!
Hugs, Angela

That looks so cool! I'm so sad I missed it. Can you let me know when and where they have this next year? I'd really like to go.
