WARRIOR PROGRESS

This is where my warrior is now. I thought I might have his head stitched by now, but I didn't get to do any stitching yesterday.
Yesterday, we visited the Living Bible Museum in Mansfield, Ohio. It was very moving. I am hoping to share some pictures on another entry. I bought this Fawn stepping stone there. As most of you know, my daughter, named Fawn, was murdered in 1995. Every so often I find things that bring her back so vividly. This was a very fitting place to find this stone. There is a Bible verse on it.
Philippians 4:6
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.
I will not use this as a stepping stone, it will be placed on an easel in my living room. I just could not leave this sitting in the gift stop. Fawn's life was cut off too short and I know she is in a better place. It is just very hard to be without her lovely presence. Thank God I have her beautiful daughters, and now my Great Grandchildren. I wish she was here to see them.

Dear Nancy,

What to say on Fawn's visibly absence ... I bet no words can express your feelings. But what a nice sign of your everlasting love for her, this fawn and the Biblical verse. I'm sure you will cherish it! She will know about this, I believe it for sure.
Your warrior looks so good, I love the colours. The woman is also beautiful, on a stitch site in Holland I followed a lady who made her and it was a beautiful pattern.

Happy stitching & hugs, Carolien

Dear Nancy, I am so glad that you found this stepping stone. It was meant to be. I think that the bible verse is very appropriate and what a wonderful place to find the stepping stone. I can understand that you always miss Fawn but sometimes things occur that do bring her back to you more vividly.
Love and prayers,
Sweetie

You described this to me but it is just so pretty. It brought tears to my eyes. I know she is with us all in spirit each day. She lives in our hearts and we can hopefully keep her alive in memories and pass that to her own children/grandchildren. I see why you had to bring the stepping stone home.

I think you have made great progress on the indian. It has really pretty color flows. I am glad you are keeping up updated as you stitch. It is fun to watch it grow!

Love and hugs ~
Heidi

Your stepping stone is beautiful. Fawn is such a lovely name. One day, tell us how you decided on that name for your daughter.

Hi Aunt Nancy,
Love the stepping stone. Now you need to add a pic of Fawn on the left with the other kids.
love,
Shari

I truly didn't understand about Fawn. I thought Heidi was your daughter. I knew you had lost someone bz you were so close to Sweetie and understood her pain but somehow I never connected that it was a daughter. I believe that she's allowed to check in on you from time to time and I'm glad you found this stepping stone to feel closer to her. Thanks heavens that in our life after this one every injustice is made right and I find great peace in that. I'm sorry I didn't understand more fully. Your warrior is coming along superbly! Crosstitching takes so much time but I find it very rewarding. You do beautiful work.

Nancy,
What a lovely stepping stone and a very moving reminder of Fawn. I'm sure this will become a treasured ornament. The verse is so appropriate :>)

Your warrior is just amazing. Don't you just love the way they slowly begin to materialize from out of nowhere. It's as if he's been hiding behind a big folded curtain and is slowly beginning to peep out :>)

I LOVE the fawn stepping stone!! I do miss my little cousin, she was beautiful!! Acutally when I saw the picture of the real fawn with the dog, I thought of her right away!! I think of her often and cannot believe it has been thirteen years since she passed!! She took you to that stepping stone, she is with you at all times and even though it is so unfair she was taken so soon, I'm sure she is making everyone smile in heaven!! Love, Barbi
