Beautiful Ohio

We went riding last weekend just hunting for places to take pictures of the leaves turning.
We went into my favorite area and found only a few places that really showed them well.

They are not nearly as nice as most Octobers. This is a farm in Amish Country.

While we were out, I wanted to get apples. We went to an apple orchard called Sunny Slopes.
I didn't buy any pumpkins, but thought they were neat.
Here are just some of the varities of apples available. This is only half the table, the other
half had customers. They sell them for only forty five cents a pound. The Golden Delicious
are really good.

This is nowhere like the normal Ohio color. How sad! I really loved seeing beautiful Ohio anyway. And you visited the punkie patch. :) Did you buy apples to make something like Fawn's apple pie?

Love and hugs ~

Nancy,
I loved looking at your photos. It certainly looks as if the season is slow to arrive where you are. Last year after we left Hershey (beginning of October), my friend drove through Ohio for a short while and I'm sure the season was further advanced. The colours are breathtaking when they start to turn red and gold.
The apples look wonderful, so tempting. My SIL brought us a huge bag from her tree a few weeks ago and my friend took half and made spicy apple pickle which she shared with us, gosh was it yummy!
Hugs, Angela

I loved all of the pictures. Don't you just love Amish country? Sometimes I wish I were Amish. None of the hassles of hectic life. Hard work for sure - but...

Love,
Julie

Nancy,
I love your pictures even if you say they are not like normal Ohio color.Being from New England I am partial to fall and to riot of color at this time of year. However, I'm not a big fan of winter or at least not snow except on the trees and right after a storm when there are no footprints in it. I am a friend of Heidi's from For the Love of Stitching and identify with her sometimes since I have a disease similar to hers which causes unbearable pain and makes it difficult to breathe at times. Heidi is always so upbeat and never lets her disease get in her way. Something I need to learn to do more.
I'll boycott Joann's for you. Except that I never go there anyway that doesn't have much meaning.
Congratulations on your blog. It is lovely to read and reflects I'm sure your attitude towards life. Thanks for starting it.
