The General Store

This is my General Store made for me by my husband, George. I painted it and did the inside.
He is going to make a second floor (I hope), which will be the bakery. I have the bakery items
and will feature them on my last dollhouse entry coming up.

The building is long, so I took the pictures inside in half so you can better see the items for sale.
The two men are playing checkers and there is a pickle barrel near by. The might want a snack.

The owners desk is in this picture and it also serves as a postoffice. I hope you enjoy browsing through the General Store.

Hi Nancy,

Roberta from FTLOS group. Have been away from most of my computer reading other than my e-mails. So I wanted to quickly say HI and I love your miniatures, they are beautiful. I also love your sweater, Joann's can been a bit bothersome.

The pictures of Ohio are lovely, I will be heading to Lancaster, Ohio and then up to Holmes County on the 8th of November to visit with my sister and to visit with friends when my sister is at work.

Love your blog - plan to visit often.

With stitches plain and fancy

Hello Nancy,
What an amazing little General Store. I love the stories you dolls houses tell. I always feel a bit like Alice In Wonderland looking into a world all in minature. Everything always looks so real. All I need is a bottle that says, Drink Me, and I can be small enough to pop in and say hello :>)
Thanks for such interesting posts.
Hugs Angela

I agree with Angela. A little bottle of "drink me" from Alice in Wonderland would be perfect. It looks straight out of LHOP! :)

You certainly pay close attention to detail! My mom is probably drooling all over her keyboard.

Love,

I loved browsing through your General Store. The detail is so amazing. I love the red and beige tie on the one guy playing checkers. And, I'll take a yard of each of the fabrics in the glass case! Thanks for sharing.

Looks like you passed the crafty/artistic gene right on down. I have never been one for miniatures but I do appreciate their artistic value and all the work that goes into them.

Also to answer your questions....I don't own a wool shop, but I do work in one part time. I haven't read the book Friday Night Knitting Club yet. I'm waiting patiently in line for the book at the library.
