FALL COLORS AND MEDICAL UPDATE

Okay, confession time, I did not take these pictures. Yesterday, my cousin and I went to Amish country again and this is just what it looked like. It was a beautiful day and the trees are just beautiful.
I went to my treatment in the morning as usual. They finished what they call the boost treatments and then I had to see the doctor. He looked at my skin (burns),
and said I needed to wait a couple more days before I have the last five treatments. I go on Thursday and Friday this week, then on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday next week. That should be it. I will be very happy to be finished with it. It is just a drag to have to go every weekday. There are about four doctor appointments on my calendar, but not until the middle of November. Thanks again for you caring and prayers.

You're finally seeing light at the end of the tunnel. I'm sorry you have to delay finishing treatment but at least it isn't for too long. I love fall colors. It snowed last night so I think the best of our color is gone. I'm supposed to go to Salt Lake this afternoon (through a canyon and about 1 hour away) and a second wave of snow is supposed to come in after I'm on the road. I really hate snow, everything about it. I know it won't stick around long though this time of year but it's putting a real damper on my day today! Oh well, we do need the snow pack up in the mountains so I guess I shouldn't complain. Have a great day!

Good to hear the treatment is almost over. Amish country is still on my list to visit. It looks so beautyful. I was in Houston for 13 days and there was good weather. Not to hot, and with a breeze. Now it's back to work and study.

There is nothing like Amish country in the fall!!! It is nice that the colors are prettier than normal this year here in Holland too. We had a dry and warm summer which affects the colors. Jos and I keep driving around to admire the trees. When we drove to Elburg yesterday, it was so beautiful.

Your treatments will be over before you know it and you will look back and think it went faster than you thought. And the burns heal. Remember what my mother taught me...silver linging? Humm...who was that mother? LOL!

Love and hugs ~

P.S. ~ Thank you again for my bear and scarf. I will be wearing my scarf today when I go over to Carolien's house.

Dear Nancy,

Thank you for your welcoming words on my blog! It's good to be back. I will have a lot of catching up to do, but that will come. I missed you too, although it was good and necessary for me to be 'away' for awhile.
Heidi just left, it was so nice to see her again! Heidi''s grey/white scarf looked great on that coat she wears... She will talk to you about your knitted ponchos, please remind her of that when she forgets :)

I hope your last treatments will be done in no time and that the burning feeling will pass quickly.

All the best & big American hug, Carolien

Gosh Nancy,
It's such good news to hear the treatments are so close to completion. You really have been remarkable coping with everything in the way you have. I hope you have been able to lessen the discomfort of the burns with some of the recommended creams.

The pictures of the Amish scenes are beautiful and, even though you didn't take them, they let us share with you the amazing scenery you enjoyed.
Thanks so much. I never tire of your beautiful pictures :>)
Hugs Angela

Nancy, be strong, you are almost there and better days are ahead. Your positive outlook and cheerful posts are inspiration to those who may have to follow your path on the road to recovery.

I've walked in your shoes so to speak - and am still walking 20 years later!

Warm hugs - keep going, it's worth it.
