A START, A FINISH AND WIP
This is the first page of our familiy cookbook. This picture is very old and worn, but so very typical of my Mom and Dad, I had to put it in. When I was in high school, when we got out annuals, my Dad always said he was first and last for me. He would sign the first and last page before anyone else signed it. I figured he would want to be first and last in this book for sure.
Heidi was asking me if I ever finished this stitched piece. Yes I did, and here it is. I haven't found a frame yet.
Ok, I have been able to do a little more on the Warrior's blanket. Now I have a dilema. People are thinking this is a woman. I showed my friends this morning and that is what they all thought. I guess I might have to take the backstitching out of the nose and makes it more harsh looking. What do you think?

Okay mother...leave the nose alone as everyone will see it is a man with legs soon...go out and buy a frame...keep busy with your scrapbooks...lol! You are just such a busy bee anymore. I feel like I am getting nothing done in comparison.

I like what you're doing with the scrapbook page and your warrior is looking great! I am spending the day sewing and I have my computer nearby so when I hear the sound that says I have mail I stop and see who it is and take a minute to visit. It is a fun way of keeping up with comments today!

I enlarged the picture and once you get the outlining of the knife in his hand done he'll look more like a man. I think what throws us off is his hair extensions/ribbons/whatever that are trailing down his shoulder by the blanket. After outlining it will be much more apparent that he's a man. You're doing a beautiful job! Good job on the cookbook too, what a family treasure it's becoming!

What a lot of lovely things to look at. I love your Stars and Stripes finish and the kitchen scrap book looks as if it's going to turn into an heirloom.

Man or Woman????? I suppose that right now it's in the eye of the beholder. Beautiful work though. WOW I'm so impressed!!!
Nancy, I think he looks just fine. Once he is finished people will see he is a man! I love the star and stripes, and yes you do need to purchase a frame. Your scrapbook is going to be wonderful.

Hi Nancy, the first page of your book is perfect...kitchen memories and what a wonderful family picture with special meaning.
I think your warrior is just great as is....he is very handsome and for me I can tell he is a man just by his clothing.
I like S&S...the stitch we are working on has a flag in it too. On your stars how many threads did you use? I did my 2nd ornament on lt. oatmeal and my stars are getting lost. Thank and hugs, Linda
