I FINALLY HAVE A QUILT ON MY BED

At least three years ago, I took fabric to Holland for Heidi to help me make this quilt. We did all but the borders and I have had it sitting in my sewing room all this time waiting to finish it. I put the borders on it and still waited. I couldn't decide how I wanted to finish it. Eric came over and helped me do the yarn ties. He had to hold pliers to pull the double yarn through, but here is the finish. I gave several of the Dutch quilter and Heidi some of the squares and most have used theirs long ago. My bedroom is all Amish so I am so happy it is finished.
The shams are well padded since we had a backing on them when the yarn was pulled through, now they have yet another backing so they open for the pillow. Thanks Heidi for all you help many years ago, and thank you Eric for your help last week.

Nancy, what a beautiful quilt. Did you stitch the blocks or are they premade and you put the border around them? I love quilts on any bed. We have quilts on all our bed, or we did when we had beds!

Nancy, your quilt is wonderful...I really like the way you finished it with the yarn ties and I think the pillow shams are a perfect finishing touch....hugs, Linda

That's beautifull.
Heidi has a creative family!
If you want, I have a amish mini quilt you can hang in your bedroom.
I made these miniatures the year that Heidi had the Amish theme.
The only thing is, I still don't know where to hang them or what to do with them.
I will put some pics on my blog, so if your interested in one or two let me know, and I will send them over.

Hi Nancy,
This quilt is so gorgeous. It looks wonderful on the bed and really deserves to be seen and admired.
I'm glad you finally finished it.
It must be a great feeling to have it ticked off the "to do" list.

Nancy, Your quilt is beautiful. Your quilt has a wonderful history. It is heartwarming that you and Heidi share so many talents. I love the idea of a bedroom done in Amish.
Love,
